Bunny Love

Makeminebutton

As a lover of all things, cute and furry I'm throwing my support behind the Make Mine Chocolate campaign. Their message:
"Each year, unwanted, former Easter rabbits fill local rabbit rescues and humane societies. The goal of the “Make Mine Chocolate!™” is to break the cycle by educating the public about the responsibilities involved in keeping a companion rabbit before a rabbit is brought home."
In other words: Unless you really, really want a rabbit hopping around your house for the next ten years, for godsakes don't put a little bunny in the Easter basket. Go to their website to buy buttons and t-shirts to show your support. Oh, and check out this other ideas.

I have no idea how one would go about creating such a thing, but I'm guessing it involves marzipan. If you could figure it out, well, how impressive that be? Link thanks to neatorama.

The goddess of all things cute and crafty over wee wonderfuls is making patterns so you can make these big-footed bunnies for you and yours. And if you check out her site you'll see these are just the tip of the bunny iceberg.

It's too big for a basket, but this guy, named Yoonie, is about a ten on the cute-o-meter. You can even customize Yonnie with different backgrounds and patterns. Nice. Go check him out at Yoon Kids. Link thanks to crib candy

Make Mine Chocolate—Literally

There are a lot of good looking chocolate rabbits out there. But these really spoke to me. You can order them from Williams-Sonoma, in different sizes. If you're planning on really rocking Easter this year they've also got amazing chicks and eggs.

If you have to have the real thing then rescue the rabbit. You can adopt one and save his floppy-eared life! Plus, when you adopt a bunny you'll find out in advance all sorts of information about his personality (some of them bite, you know) and most important if he'll be hoppy in a house with kids. To find a rabbit in need of a good home go to the House Rabbit Society. And that's all folks!

Wee Wonderful's work is gorgeous! And I love Yoon Kids. They just sponsored an excellent giveaway at designmom.com

You can make mine chocolate ANY day - preferrably dark!

I really don't like the idea of rabbits as pets - especially when they can't take care of them, but just in general...[small voice] rabbits creep me out! [/small voice]

Yeah you! Love this post. My two bunnies also appreciate it. I rescued them from a breeder.
