Make This: Your Own Portrait Gallery

One day I realized that the walls in my living room were bare. I felt like I had grown out posters, but was too poor to start buying art. What to do? Get my kids to make giant portraits, of course. I got them really, really big canvases and acrylic paint. Then I asked them to draw a portrait of each other, of each other's cat and to make one together of me. The only instructions I gave: Fill up the whole canvas. I left them in the basement for a few hours and voila!

They also did two portraits together, one of me, and then when I got married to Matt, he got one too. Julius also did one of Vladimir Lenin (but he doesn't live here). I have my kids art framed all over my home. I love this idea, and may just do this over Spring Break with my four kids.
