Rockin' Reader Tip: DIY Dresser Makeover
Goodyblog reader Heather Turner from St. George, Utah sent these amazing pics and told us the story behind these cool drawers:
"My husband made this dresser for our baby Bode's room. It was super easy and super cheap. It was an old dresser (at least 30 years old) that we had kicking around in our garage. He gave it a fresh coat of paint and drilled holes in the trucks and screwed them on in the original holes where the old handles were. I got the trucks at a toy store, 5 for $5.99 and they were buy one get one free! Bode is 10- months-old now and just loves to spin the wheels and move all the parts on all the trucks. I hope it makes other people realize how cheap and easy they can do stuff too !!!"
Here's a close up of one of the new handles!

Hi! LOVE this idea and would love to copy it, but not sure how to secure the cars. Would love for Heather to get in touch with me for more specifics!

Heather:
Tried to copy your idea, but you have to take the bottoms off the cars to drill holes in one side. In many cases, the bottoms are not screwed on; rather they are fastened with some kind of weld where the screw would be. How did you get the bottoms of the cars off? And what happens when the wheels are wider than the car body, or when there is not enough room inside the car body for a nut to hold the bolt?
