Live from the Green Products Expo
Yesterday I attended the Green Products Expo here in New York and learned about so many great eco-friendly products. It amazes me how many different companies have managed to take a green approach to not only their products, but their manufacturing process as well! Check out my favorite picks from each category:
Dapple Dishwasher Detergent was invented by two moms to specifically clean formula, milk and long-lasting film off of your baby's feeding gear without harsh chemicals. All of the ingredients are plant-derived and completely biodegradable, and there are no dyes or perfumes.
I'm a huge fan of the super-soft organic cotton baby clothing from
Sckoon, so I immediately feel for this bright, colored outfit. Look at the
adorable monster appliqué (above right) on the tush!
The Preserve Jr. toothbrush from Recycline won't just get your kids teeth clean, it'll help you teach them about the recycling process. Recycline has partnered with Stonyfield Farm and uses their recycled organic yogurt cups to make the toothbrush handles. Once you're done with the toothbrush, don't throw it out because it too is completely recyclable. Just send it back in their pre-paid postage mailer and they'll melt down the plastic handle to form another. (Plus, a portion of the sales goes to the National Wildlife Federation.)
And, the "too good to be true" product of the show... Lucky Earth's "Waterless" Car Wash. This car wash spray is completely safe for the environment - it's VOC free, dye free, fragrance free, paraben free (you get the picture...) - and it'll save you 20 to 45 gallons of water when you wash your car at home. You can use it on all of the surfaces of your car too. The only catch... you must use a microfiber cloth to apply the spray. (But the word on the street is that they work much better anyway!)

Thanks for the highlight on some of these great products. I love to see more about products that are not only environmentally friendly, but health friendly as well.

Erin - good news for you. Most of these products are healthy BECAUSE they are eco-friendly. Many green products have fewer or no harsh chemicals and have a safer production processes, which means your body is exposed to less potentially-harmful substances. But we'll keep on the look out for healthy items as well - which don't necessarily have to be green.

I would have loved to see the Green Expo. Sckoon has amazing soft products & I use all their clothing line to resell on my organic baby online boutique. I embellish their shirts & onesies and make them even cutier! Thanks for sharing. Lolababiez Organics www.lolababiez.com
